ATC August Highlights

It’s been a busy few weeks for club members.  Some highlights & shout outs are due to:

  • Niall Foley coming 8th in AG in challenge Prague 70.3 a few weeks ago
  • Conor Tiernan Inter Service and Defence Forces Tri Winner 2018
  • All who took part in big barrow splash and ATC team Tritanic Sinead Foley, Peter Norton, Peadar Owens, John Fox, Gennell Renehan, Ciaran Mulhall, Baco McEntee, Mary Kelly, Roibeard o Briain, Patricia Blanchfield John Cuddy, Cathal English Neil Toffee Davis, and Peter Fennin with captain Maggie Owens and the 5km fun run which was overseen by Sinead Foley, Trisha Mitchell and Mick Renehan last week great day had by all and a big shout out to our drummers great little motivators you had the team flying and a big thank you to Mon Mcentee for the lovely sambos and everyone else who brought goodies what a great team we have
  • Junior members racing at  Loughrea triathlon  – Darragh and Neal Lazenby, Niamh and Eoin Mulkerins, Tadhg and Harri Roberts, Chloe and Shane Kavanagh. Senior members racing were Darren Foley, Michelle Brennan 2nd in AG Caitlin McDonald 3rd in AG Conor Tiernan 2nd in AG and Niall Foley 3rd in AG
  • All ATC members who competed in the Johnny McNally 3/4 Mile Swim in bagenalstown
  • All ATC runners participating in the John Wall Memorial 5k
  • Congratulations to Niall Foley and Michelle Brennan on their Age Group Wins at the Caroline Kearney National Series Race. Super performances were also put in by Karen Kavanagh of Carlow and Karen Kavanagh of Athy (yes, 2 Karen Kavanagh’s 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️), Suzanne Kelly, Daithi Kidd, Keith Pollard and Barry Healy.
  • Ryan Fox who won the Leinster U-12 road and TT races in August. Watch out Dan Martin!
  •  Cormac Ó Ceallaigh was in Glasgow representing Ireland at the European Triathlon Championships. He was the fastest Irishman in the 20-24 age group and came 138th overall out of 800 athletes. That’s not bad for a guy who suffered a dislocated shoulder only 10 weeks ago
  • A great showing by ATC at this years Ironman 70.3 Dun Laoghaire. Lots of debut half irons to celebrate.  Special mention to Conor Tiernan 4th in Age Group, completing the course in 5:08:24.
